Investigating women's rights in Libya post-revolution

We have started investigating into the status of women’s rights in Libya post-revolution.

The urgency of the situation was obvious – widespread human rights abuses were carried out against women during the Gaddafi regime. In light of the Transitional Council’s statement regarding the implementation of a modern interpretation of Sharia law, our investigation was timely.

In light of the concerns posed by Libyan activists active in the uprising against the regime, we have interviewed Libyan activists on the condition of women before and after Gaddafi.
